Update: Mississippi newspapers online

Last year, we wrote about the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) digitizing Mississippi Newspapers for inclusion in Chronicling America, a project with the Library of Congress to make newspapers from 1836 to 1922 in America accessible online.

There are now several Mississippi newspapers available for you to search, read, and download in Chronicling America. When the MDAH is finished with the project, you'll be able to see what was the big news of the day in 22 counties in Mississippi from 1836-1922.
