Allison Weiss has everything she ever wanted: a good
husband, a smart, beautiful daughter, a house in the suburbs, and a lucrative
job as a blog writer. So, why is she so unhappy? Well, she isn’t as close to
her husband as she once was for starters. She feels like she is left to do
everything: take care of the house, their daughter and all of her activities,
her sick dad, and her mother who is totally the opposite of self-sufficient.
All while working a full-time job(which just happens to pay more than her
husband’s).
The only thing that makes her feel better are those little
pills the doctor prescribed for her back. Or should we say doctor(s)? The more
pills Allison takes, the more she needs just to feel “normal”. And she will stop
at nothing to obtain them, even if it means losing everything. Or does it? It
is with the realization that she could lose her daughter that lands her in a
not so classy rehab where she will learn about herself and the world around
her.
Jennifer Weiner can tell a story with the best of them.
There isn’t a book written by her that I haven’t enjoyed. And they just keep
getting better. Her characters are real with real issues we can all relate to
in one way or another. From page one, this heart-touching book sucks you in.
Come by and check this book out today! You won’t regret it.
